Do grandparents need the app?
No. They don’t download anything, make an account, or charge a device. A newspaper arrives in their mailbox with their name on it.
Do I need an iPhone?
Yes. The Family Press app is iPhone only. Everyone you invite to add photos needs an iPhone too. Grandparents don’t need anything. They just get the newspaper in the mail. Join the Android waitlist.
Can I give this as a gift?
That’s what it’s for! A monthly moment of happiness in their mailbox.
Where do you mail?
The United States only, for now. Print and postage are included in the price, so there is nothing to pack and no trip to the post office.
How much fits in one issue?
Up to 30 posts. A post is a photo, or a collage of photos, with a short caption. The family fills the issue together through the month.
Who else can add photos?
Anyone you invite. Most of our customers add their spouse and their kids if they already have their own iPhone. Send them a link and they add photos from their iPhone. Only the person who set the newspaper up pays, so everyone else contributes for free. Invite as many people as you like.
When does it arrive?
Each issue collects for about four weeks, closes on a Sunday, and lands in their mailbox one to two weeks later. Your first issue works the same way, so there is a full month to fill it.
Can I set one up for both grandparents?
Yes. One newspaper can be addressed to two people at the same address, and they receive one newspaper rather than two copies. For the other side of the family, add a second newspaper in the app. One account can have as many newspapers as you need, each with its own recipients and address.
Who can see our photos?
Only the people you invite, plus whoever receives the printed newspaper. We don’t sell your data and we don’t put ads in the newspaper.
